FIBER-OPTIC REPEATER SYSTEM

Fiber-Optic Repeater System

Extend coverage without adding new base stations or new frequencies. A complete system — master unit, remote unit and the passive network around them — for tunnels, metro lines, airports and large industrial sites.

Seven elements, one coverage chain

The catalogue defines a complete system rather than a single box: two active units, four passive network elements, and the engineering rationale for each.

Fibre-optic repeater system

p.5

Extend coverage without new base stations or new frequencies

Designed to extend coverage without adding new base stations or new frequencies. The system serves both critical and non-critical communication, letting users receive notification, respond quickly and control the running system remotely. The repeater receives low-power signal from the base station over the air and transmits the amplified signal onward.

Complete system — the master unit and remote unit are supplied as a set

Fibre-optic repeater MOU (master unit)

p.7

Signal to optical conversion at the near end, up to 20 km reach

The master unit is used as a set with the ROU. It offers high performance and efficiency for signal transmission of up to 20 km, providing a broad umbrella of coverage for large buildings, exhibition halls, subways, airports and large enterprise factories. One-button installation and integrated module design keep deployment simple.

Near-end unit — converts the over-the-air signal into an optical signal

Fibre-optic repeater ROU (remote unit)

p.9

High intermodulation linear power amplifier with high-suppression duplexer

The remote unit is used as a set with the MOU. It uses high-intermodulation linear power amplifier technology and a high-suppression duplexer. One-button installation and integrated module design minimise both CAPEX and on-site work.

Far-end unit — converts the optical signal back to RF and re-amplifies it

Combiner (POI)

p.11

Let several systems share one coverage solution

Selects between several input signals and forwards them to a single output line. Different individual systems can share the same coverage solution, avoiding repeated consumption of indoor building coverage and reducing cost. The Combiner meets the isolation requirement of front-end equipment, prevents signal interaction between multi-systems and improves user experience.

Combines multi-band or multi-operator signals into one antenna line

Duplexer

p.13

12 resonant cavities, isolation ≥ 85 dB

Allows bi-directional communication over a single path. The duplexer isolates the receiver from the transmitter while permitting transmit and receive to work at the same time. A design of high isolation and low insertion loss separates the TX/RX signal and avoids signal interaction. 12 resonant cavities satisfy a maximum 4 MHz band.

Transmit / receive path separation on a shared antenna line

Splitter

p.15

2–8 way balanced distribution in 1U

Selects one input signal and forwards it to several output lines. The balanced design makes sure the message reaches the base station receiver from every signal channel equally. A splitter achieves 2–8 multiplex in a standard 1U form factor — smaller and more convenient.

Splits one signal into 2–8 branches for multi-cell distribution

Signal stripper

p.17

Integrates uplink signals at the near end of the fibre run

The uplink signal stripper integrates the uplink signals at the near end of a plurality of optical-fibre radio-frequency relays and sends them to the multiplex coupling module of the receiver. It minimises the energy attenuation of the trunk signal and ensures the maximum coverage of the system. Parallel and series connection are both supported.

Combines multiple uplink runs into one receiver line

Request a configuration

Tell us the band, the output power, the coverage target and the certification requirement for your market. We will confirm what is realistic for that configuration rather than quote a lead time we cannot meet.

The system is supplied as a master unit and remote unit set, with the passive elements sized to the number of coverage branches you need. We can also integrate it with existing head-end equipment and monitoring.

See also our tunnel and utility tunnel coverage, cellular coverage systems and Cellular Mate digital DAS for related configurations.
